Key Stage 1
In undertaking geographical enquiry, pupils should be taught to ask geographical questions: (eg) “What is it like to live in this place?” The Smart Globe will provide information on population, history, language, geography, leaders which will help the child to understand that country better.
In developing geographical skills pupils should be taught to: use globes, maps and plans at a range of scales. The Smart Globe will enable a child to become familiar with using a globe and to see where countries are in relation to one another.
Since the UK version of the Smart Globe will have a map of the UK on it, this will enable pupils to understand more about the country in which they live in.
Key Stage 2
In undertaking geographical enquiry, pupils should be taught to: analyse evidence and draw conclusions (Eg By comparing the population data for two localities). One of the Smart Globes features is population, an ideal way to find out instantaneously the population of countries.
In developing geographical skills pupils should be taught to: Use atlases and globes, and maps and plans at a range of scales. The Smart Globe can be used to aid in this skill set
